I bought this book to better inform myself for a home purchase. The information Brighton has written delivers. His writing style is very easy to read and comes across as genuine. In addition to the breakdown of mortgages, Brighton gives financial and life advice which is thoughtful toward the reader. I hope he continues to make more content.
This book is a fantastic resource for anyone thinking about home ownership and getting a mortgage in Canada. There is a lot of information that I did not know! How a mortgage application involves so much more than just your credit rating. Or how it is often wise to not take the full amount one might qualify for. Mr. Gbarazia has deep understanding and insight from working within the banking and mortgage loan industry, yet I felt like he was on my “team” and freely sharing his knowledge and insider tips. I really enjoyed his engaging writing and the many personal experiences he shares. There is a lot of information but it is concisely and clearly presented. As a prospective home buyer the mortgage process has always been the most daunting. How do you GET approved? How do you know you're getting the best deal? Whats the true cost of a mortgage? This book has it all. It's layed out for an easy to read, easy to understand, one stop shop that answered all of my mortgage questions and I feel much more prepared when we start looking at homes and start talking to lenders. Highly recommended to anyone who is a first time home buyer. It provides great insight to help you prepare yourself both financially and emotionally before making the biggest purchase of your life. A very well written and well thought out book that anyone who is looking for a home, can pick up and learn valuable information. This book provides great insight and background knowledge the average person might not know about. With the housing market the way it is and the lack of knowledge people have regarding this topic coming out of high school/post secondary, take all the help you can get - and this book has it.
